Plant Operations Specialist

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Plant Operations Specialist to join our team at Veolia. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our energy production facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide shift coverage to ensure continuous operation of our energy production facilities
- Assist in monitoring and operating plant from the central control room
- Coordinate control room operations to ensure consistent power production and steam turbine operation
- Take immediate corrective action during emergencies to limit risks
- Monitor and control process parameters, raw materials usage, and environmental emissions
- Safely shut down and restart plant sections according to procedures
- Perform emergency operations during unit trips and abnormal conditions
- Carry out lockout-tagout isolations and understand applied risk hazards
- Ensure compliance with environmental permits and report non-compliance
- Conduct routine plant inspections, adjustments, and data collection
Requirements:
- IT literacy and an understanding of current environmental and health and safety issues
- Experience gained through working in a continuous process environment, preferably with experience of working shifts
- Able to operate, or train to operate, a variety of auxiliary and fixed plant
- Able to work a continuous rotating shift pattern, including adequate voluntary overtime to cover the workload and colleagues' absences
- Self-motivated, able to prioritize tasks and work with minimal supervision
- An effective team member, able to communicate well orally and in writing
- Flexible, with a creative approach to problem-solving
