Job Title: UK Indirect Tax Manager

Job Summary:

BLT Recruitment is seeking an experienced Indirect Tax Manager to join a global retail business in London. As a key member of the Indirect Tax Team, you will be responsible for overseeing all UK Indirect Tax matters, including VAT compliance, tax returns, and risk management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide business advisory services on all indirect tax matters across the UK business, ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations.
  • Manage VAT compliance processes and tax returns reporting, ensuring timely and accurate submissions and resolving any issues that may arise.
  • Lead the UK Indirect Tax Assistant, setting objectives and managing deliverables to ensure the team's success.
  • Document and maintain the Tax Risk Register for SAO compliance, identifying and mitigating potential risks.
  • Collaborate with the Group Head of Indirect Tax and key stakeholders to implement long-term processes as part of the indirect tax strategy, impacting how the UK business manages its indirect tax affairs.
  • Provide training and raise awareness of indirect tax matters across the business, ensuring a culture of compliance and risk management.
  • Identify and optimize opportunities for tax savings and manage/mitigate risks, ensuring the business remains compliant and competitive.
  • Stay up-to-date with legislative and case law changes, analyzing and advising on their impact and implementing necessary changes.

Requirements:

  • UK VAT experience gained in an industry role.
  • Line management experience and experience of SAP will be an advantage.
