Job Title: Teaching Assistant - Creative Educator

Job Summary:

EdEx – Education Recruitment is seeking a highly motivated and creative individual to join our team as a Teaching Assistant - Creative Educator. This role is ideal for graduates from a creative background who are looking to gain hands-on experience working with children in a primary school setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the class teacher in delivering the primary curriculum, using creativity and imagination to engage students and promote learning.
  • Work with students of various ages and abilities, including those with mild special educational needs (SEN), such as ASD, ADHD, dyslexia, and speech and language issues.
  • Assist with planning and preparing lessons, as well as evaluating student progress and providing feedback.
  • Collaborate with the teaching team to develop and implement creative strategies to support student learning and development.
  • Contribute to a positive and inclusive classroom environment, promoting social and emotional development, and building resilience and confidence in students.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children, preferably in a primary school setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, teachers, and parents.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach to meeting the needs of students and the school.
  • Knowledge of creative therapies and their application in education, such as drama, music, and art.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
