Water System Specialist

H&K Fire Engineering seeks an experienced Water System Specialist to join our team in London.
As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing water system designs that meet the highest standards of safety and efficiency. With a strong focus on teamwork and collaboration, you will work closely with our clients and colleagues to deliver complex fire protection solutions.
We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated individual with a comprehensive understanding of water system design engineering principles and practices. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of delivering high-quality designs, excellent communication and organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize effectively and work under minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop water system designs through coordination with client representatives and other service contracts.
- Contribute to design programs by monitoring progress against construction programs and specification requirements.
- Issue completion documents and certification.
- Obtain necessary information from relevant parties for preparing fully designed working drawings.
- Attend site meetings to discuss design matters.
- Prepare complete working drawings in accordance with design codes, including pipe size calculations.
- Prepare materials lists for procurement and estimating purposes.
- Forward drawings and materials lists to suppliers and subcontractors.
- Other activities as instructed by the Project manager or Design Manager.
Required Skills and Experience
- Comprehensive experience in design engineering within the sprinkler industry.
- Knowledge and familiarity with LPC BS EN 12845 rules.
- LPCB Intermediate qualification and LPCB Full Hydraulic Calculation qualification (desirable).
- Experience and proficiency in using Autocad and Revit 3D (desirable).
- Knowledge of Factory Mutual Standards and NFPA standards.
- HND or Degree qualification in construction/engineering design (desirable).
- Experience in managing, developing, and leading a team.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize effectively and work under minimal supervision.

Salary Range: £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
