Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced General Practice Assistant First Contact to join our dynamic team at Burlington Primary Care. As a key member of our clinical team, you will play a vital role in supporting our GPs and clinicians in delivering high-quality patient care.
Main Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative and clinical support to GPs and clinicians, ensuring the smooth running of clinics and enabling them to focus on patient care.
- Take initial patient histories, perform basic observations, and assist with clinical tasks as directed by the clinician.
- Sort and prioritize clinical post, signpost to other healthcare professionals as needed, and extract relevant information from clinical letters.
- Arrange appointments, referrals, tests, and follow-up appointments for patients, and prepare patients for GP consultations.
- Perform basic clinical procedures, including dipping urine, taking blood pressure, ECGs, and phlebotomy.
- Complete basic forms and core elements of some forms for GP approval and signature.
- Communicate effectively with patients, carers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care delivery.
