About the Job

We are looking for a highly skilled and dedicated University Access Program Manager to join our team at Harris Hill. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting students from disadvantaged backgrounds to access top universities through tuition and in-school mentoring.

You will be responsible for mentoring GCSE students, delivering group workshops, and coaching them on how to access and transition to university. You will engage with students in school, enroll them onto the programme, and match them with volunteer tutors. Your primary focus will be on assessing student progress towards making successful university applications.

This role requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to build and maintain relationships with volunteer tutors and school staff. You must also be able to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong emphasis on problem-solving and adaptability.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Engage with students in school and enroll them onto the programme
  • Mentor GCSE students and deliver group workshops
  • Catch up with volunteer tutors and ensure they have a positive experience of the programme
  • Work with school staff to ensure their cooperation and timely completion of activities contributing to the smooth running of the programme
  • Assess student progress towards making successful university applications

The successful candidate will have a degree in a relevant subject and excellent communication and interpersonal skills. They will also have the ability to lead and manage change, embed the programme in schools, and support the delivery of tutor training. Salary: £27,570 (paid time off in lieu for occasional Saturdays and weekday evenings).
