About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Facilities Supervisor to join our operational Facilities Management team at The Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of support service assistants in delivering excellent cleanliness standards, housekeeping, and domestic services.

This is a part-time permanent position, working on Thursday and Friday with flexible hours between 9am and 5pm, 20 hours per week.

**There is a potential to work a night shift**

Key Responsibilities
  1. Delivering the Service: Supervisors will be required to identify and respond to user needs and to solve problems/complaints as and when they arise.
  2. To train, monitor, and supervise facilities staff in all the elements of their role.
  3. Supervisors are required to work with staff teams and to carry out domestic and housekeeping duties to cover the needs of the service.
  4. A Supervisor will be required to have the knowledge and technical ability to be able to undertake and teach staff the skills necessary to complete service delivery.
  5. Support the Trust's Health and Safety Policy ensuring staff are trained to ensure the safety of staff, visitors, and patients within their area of work.
  6. Monitor areas of responsibility to ensure service standards are consistently delivered in line with National Cleaning Standards. Taking remedial action as necessary.
  7. Monitoring of catering services at ward level to ensure compliance with the Trust's food safety documentation and current food safety legislation as highlighted in the Trust's food services policy and the ward catering procedures.
  8. Actively support the reduction in food wastage.
  9. To support the Team Leaders in ensuring equipment used to deliver the service is of the standard required and is maintained to physical and technical standards.
  10. To inform Team Leaders of the ordering requirements to maintain sufficient stock levels to deliver the service.
  11. Undertake initial investigation and reporting of untoward incidents and accidents using Datix.
  12. Completion and returning of Absence Monitoring forms.
  13. Will be required to take responsibility for ensuring that return to work interviews are completed in a timely manner and that the Team Leaders are informed when an employee reaches the next stage of the Trust Management of Sickness and Absence Policy.
  14. Checking and countersigning clock cards on a weekly basis in preparation for data entry to the payroll data base.
  15. Management of annual leave requests in a timely manner.

  • Level 3 Food Safety or prepared to study for within 3 months.
  • NVQ 2 or equivalent.
  • IOSH Supervising Safely Safety or prepared to study for within 3 months.
  • ILM 2 Supervisory Studies or prepared to study for within 3 months.

Experience

  • Previous Supervisory experience.

Desirable

  • Experience of working within a healthcare setting.

Knowledge and Awareness

  • Knowledge of basic PC systems.
