About the Role
The Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Facilities Management Supervisor to join our operational team. As a key member of our Facilities Management team, you will be responsible for leading the daily delivery of an efficient and effective customer-focused quality service in accordance with the National Standards of Healthcare Cleanliness.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise a team of support service assistants in delivering excellent cleanliness standards, housekeeping, and domestic services.
- Train, monitor, and supervise facilities staff in all elements of their role.
- Work collaboratively with key partners, support clinical teams, and establish and maintain good working relationships.
- Monitor areas of responsibility to ensure service standards are consistently delivered in line with National Cleaning Standards.
- Support the Trust's Health and Safety Policy, ensuring staff are trained to ensure the safety of staff, visitors, and patients within their area of work.
- Monitor catering services at ward level to ensure compliance with the Trust's food safety documentation and current food safety legislation.
- Actively support the reduction in food wastage.
- Support the Team Leaders in ensuring equipment used to deliver the service is of the standard required and is maintained to physical and technical standards.
- Inform Team Leaders of the ordering requirements to maintain sufficient stock levels to deliver the service.
- Undertake initial investigation and reporting of untoward incidents and accidents using Datix.
- Complete and return Absence Monitoring forms.
- Take responsibility for ensuring that return to work interviews are completed in a timely manner and that the Team Leaders are informed when an employee reaches the next stage of the Trust Management of Sickness and Absence Policy.
- Check and countersign clock cards on a weekly basis in preparation for data entry to the payroll database.
- Manage annual leave requests in a timely manner.

- Good standard of education in England and Maths.

- Level 3 Food Safety or prepared to study for within 3 months.
- NVQ 2 or equivalent.

- ILM 2 Supervisory Studies or prepared to study for within 3 months.
Experience
- Previous Supervisory experience.
Desirable
- Experience of working within a healthcare setting.
Knowledge and Awareness
- Knowledge of clerical work.

- Knowledge of basic PC systems.
- Awareness of own limitations.
