About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to join our team at Aurorium, a leading manufacturer of life-enhancing products. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for providing specialist support and advice to Site Management on engineering matters, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our chemical manufacturing facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement and control standards for the construction, inspection, operation, and maintenance of plant and equipment to maintain integrity.
  • Liaise with statutory, industry, and academic bodies on matters related to construction, inspection, operation, and maintenance of chemical manufacturing facilities.
  • Responsible for the installation of new plant and changes to existing plant and equipment, ensuring compliance with the Management of Change system.
  • Act as the facilities subject-matter-expert on matters of mechanical integrity, including reviewing 3rd party equipment assessment reports.
  • Ensure critical assets have suitable care programs and effective routine maintenance plans in place, adhering to regulatory requirements and best practices.
  • Implement, report on, and drive improvements to key performance indicators (KPIs) to enhance functional performance.
  • Manage capital projects and associated budgets, delivering on time and in full, and overseeing similar work undertaken by other personnel.
  • Proactively identify and participate in Continuous Improvement opportunities to enhance business performance.
  • Provide specialist support to assist in the safe and efficient operation of production units, ensuring production plans are met.
  • Maintain and communicate knowledge of best practices, new regulations, and standards to ensure Site Operations meet regulatory requirements.
  • Review and approve placement of contracts, initiating and managing negotiations for services required to support Site Operations.
  • Responsible for developing the Maintenance function's annual budgets and monitoring and controlling maintenance expenditure, ensuring efficient work management and cost control.
  • Approve, initiate development, audit, and monitor departmental procedures and work methods to ensure consistent, controlled, and productive application.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in Maintenance/Reliability and Projects within a Chemical/Petrochemical environment.
  • Wide knowledge of engineering practice and chemical plant maintenance, with other manufacturing backgrounds considered.
  • Management of multi-disciplined departments in maintenance and project activities.
  • Contractual administration and financial/budgetary control and management.
  • Communication with Local Authorities, Health and Safety Executive, Contracts, and Consultants.
  • A solid career to date in engineering maintenance management roles.
  • Strong Leadership skills in this field.
  • A proven track record in manufacturing.
  • Degree in a relevant Engineering discipline or equivalent qualification.
  • Professional accreditation, such as Chartered Engineer, would be welcomed but is not essential.
What's on Offer

We offer a competitive salary of £65,000 to £70,000, plus bonus and benefits, depending on skills and experience. Relocation packages will also be considered in some circumstances. Where specific UK qualifications are required, we will take into account overseas equivalents.
