Position - Project Manager

Are you ready to advance your career in project management? We are seeking a skilled Project Manager to oversee various projects at TSP Engineering across multiple sectors. This role involves being the primary contact for clients and ensuring the successful execution of projects within defined timelines, quality standards, and budget constraints.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the main point of contact for clients, ensuring their needs are accurately understood and met in all project deliverables while fostering a positive relationship throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Lead and guide Assistant Project Managers, Project Planners, and technical teams to ensure project milestones are achieved on time and within budget.
  • Take charge of project delivery, ensuring adherence to established Business Management Systems.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks while recognizing opportunities to enhance project outcomes.
  • Utilize Product Breakdown Structures (PBS), Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), and Cost Breakdown Structures (CBS) to define project deliverables effectively.
  • Regularly review project schedules and budgets, implementing robust change control processes as necessary.
  • Instill confidence in all stakeholders, including senior management and clients, regarding the project's status and health.
  • Manage relationships with internal teams and subcontractors, proactively addressing technical, programmatic, safety, and commercial project requirements.
  • Ensure consistent and effective communication throughout the project.
  • Contribute to the bidding process for multi-disciplinary projects by providing resource and cost/time estimates.
  • Engage in proactive client management while maintaining a strategic perspective.
  • Oversee the creation and timely distribution of Quality Plans, Bills of Materials for procurement, and work instructions.

Qualifications / Experience Required / Personal Attributes

Qualifications:

  • APM Project Management Qualification (PMQ) is essential.
  • Chartered Project Professional (ChPP) or equivalent is desirable.
  • Engineering Degree or relevant practical experience in Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
  • Skills & Experience:
  • Proven track record in project management with experience in successfully delivering multi-disciplinary projects across all phases.
  • Familiarity with project management principles, tools, and techniques.
  • Understanding of project planning, scheduling, estimating, risk management, and their application in diverse teams.
  • Experience in ensuring compliance with client contracts and specifications.
  • Background in managing projects with budgets exceeding £10m.
  • Experience in a Mechanical Engineering or similar technical role.

The ideal candidate will possess strong practical skills and a keen eye for detail. Previous experience in a Project Management capacity is crucial, complemented by a solid foundation in mechanical engineering principles.

Overall, the successful candidate should demonstrate a positive attitude, flexibility in work patterns, and a willingness to work additional hours when required by the business.
