Job Description

The Bamford Bus Company Limited is seeking a skilled Compliance Specialist to join our team. This role is responsible for ensuring that our vehicles meet the necessary technical requirements and regulations in various countries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Integrate European approval process into vehicle approval process.
  • Obtain ECWVTA, NSSTA or IVA for specified products.
  • Assess legislation and regulations for bus design, manufacture, and use in target countries.
  • Obtain approvals for countries where we target vehicle placement.
  • Identify required approvals for associated products.
  • Ensure New Product Developments and materials comply with EEC Directives and ECE/EU Regulations.
  • Appraise vehicle tenders and specifications for national and international sales.
  • Regularly assess EEC Directives and ECE/EU Regulations and take necessary actions.
  • Write procedures for approval processes.
  • Complete and submit documentation for approval submissions.
  • Catalogue approval documentation in a secure format.
  • Liaise with departments to resolve issues related to EEC Directives, ECE/EU Regulations, and vehicle legislation.
  • Evaluate Certificates of Conformity to ensure continued component/system compliance.
  • Organise and attend tests to obtain formal approvals.
  • Work with Quality department to maintain CoP approval.
  • Assess and develop the Stage 6 Inspection process.
  • Undertake and provide relevant training for the post.

Specification:

  • Essential:
    • BTEC HNC or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
    • Minimum 2 years experience in an Engineering Company in an Engineering Compliance or Quality based role.
    • Practical use of 2D CAD systems.
    • Ability to understand technical drawings.
    • Computer literate with practical working knowledge of MS Office including Excel and Word.
  • Desirable:
    • BTEC HND or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
    • Previous experience in the bus industry.
    • Practical use of 3D CAD Systems.
