We are a leading retailer of toys and games, dedicated to providing an exceptional shopping experience for our customers. As a Duty Manager at Smyths Toys, you will play a key role in driving sales, delivering excellent customer service, and leading a high-performing team.

Key Responsibilities

As a Duty Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Sales and Revenue Growth
    • Deliver and exceed sales targets in store
    • Maintain availability of all products on the shop floor
    • Ensure the team's familiarity with all products in all departments
    • Ensure all customer purchases are carried out in accordance with company guidelines
  • Customer Service and Experience
    • Ensure all customer queries are dealt with promptly and effectively
    • Achieve and maintain company standards on housekeeping, floor presentation, and space planning
    • Participate in weekly stock takes - identify and report abnormal counts to the Store Manager
  • Staffing and Operations
    • Ensure staffing levels match business needs or events in-store
    • Prepare, monitor, and action daily task board
    • Actively drive the team's knowledge of top sellers and department stock loss
    • Assist Store Manager with all staffing issues, training, and performance reviews
    • Cash handling, security, and daily spot checks on all tills
    • Ensure company cash/stock handling procedures are adhered to at all times
    • Responsible for the opening and closing of the store

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a highly motivated and ambitious individual with a proven track record as a Duty Manager in a fast-paced retail environment. You should be able to demonstrate a high level of operational, leadership, planning, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills. You should be target-driven, customer-service-oriented, and have excellent Microsoft Office skills.
