About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Duty Manager to join our team at Smyths Toys in Reading. As a key member of our store management team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service, driving sales growth, and ensuring the smooth operation of our store.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and motivate a team of sales assistants to achieve sales targets and provide excellent customer service
  • Manage store operations, including stock management, visual merchandising, and cash handling
  • Develop and implement sales strategies to drive growth and improve customer engagement
  • Monitor and report on store performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as needed
  • Collaborate with the store management team to achieve business objectives and support the overall success of the store

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a retail management role, with a strong track record of delivering sales growth and improving customer satisfaction
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions
  • Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends, to meet the needs of the business
  • Knowledge of retail operations, including stock management, visual merchandising, and cash handling
