About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Robotics Software Engineer to join our team and support the development of our robot picking system. This system uses pioneering computer vision, deep reinforcement learning, and advanced sensing to automate the picking and packing process. Our robotic arms make smart decisions on the fly, packing grocery items densely into bags without any prior knowledge of what the products are or what's coming next.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in the productionization, engineering, and optimization of our robotic system to ensure it meets the quality requirements for a commercial product.
  • Take an active role in the choice of technologies and techniques used in the delivery of robotic applications.
  • Participate effectively in investigating and implementing sensor-driven robotics solutions to specific automation problems.
  • Maintain and improve Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) and automated testing pipelines.

About You

  • Excellent software engineering skills, with the ability to translate your own and the team's ideas into robust and reusable code ready to be deployed in production.
  • Experience in working with robotic systems or proven experience within a similar industry.
  • Excellent software engineering skills: ability to write reusable and clean code and to design software.
  • Experience with common software development tools and practices (e.g. source control, code peer review, etc.).
  • Experience performing integration of large or complex systems.
  • Experience in machine learning techniques and developing machine learning solutions, applied to robotics or other domains.
  • Demonstrable experience in developing software in C++ and Python.
  • Familiar with containerization applications like Docker.
  • Experience in building and maintaining CI/CD systems.
  • Experience developing on Ubuntu Linux.
