Job Title: Lead Commercial Surveyor

We are seeking an experienced Lead Commercial Surveyor to join our Land and Property team at Yorkshire Water. As a key member of our Estates Team, you will be responsible for managing one of Yorkshire's largest land holdings, providing expert advice on property acquisitions and disposals, and leading on estate matters.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert advice on property acquisitions and disposals, landlord/tenant issues, and general estate matters
  • Lead on estate matters, including managing a diverse commercial estate and dealing with landlord and tenant matters
  • Undertake inspections of various types of land and property
  • Support and manage estate enquiries
  • Manage a team of surveyors and land officers
  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to problem-solve and identify risks and opportunities across the estate
  • Responsible for managing and reporting on income and expenditure
  • Support the Senior Estates Manager to deliver financial targets and business strategy
Requirements:
  • MRICS qualified
  • Demonstratable track record of managing estates or similar to a high standard
  • Experience visiting/inspecting different types of land and property
  • Excellent understanding of Health and Safety regulations
  • People management experience
  • Extensive knowledge and experience of the legal and regulatory requirements relating to the ownership, management, sale, purchase, and leasing of land and property
  • Extensive knowledge of regional property markets
  • Track record of delivering results against challenging financial targets
