About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Therapy Assistant to join our team at South Warwickshire University NHS Foundation Trust. As a Therapy Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our therapists in providing high-quality care to patients with stroke and neurological conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support therapists in delivering therapy treatment programmes, including patient education, exercise programmes, and classes.
  • Gain informed consent for treatment in accordance with Trust policy, working with patients, carers, and relatives with diverse emotional, physical, and psychological conditions.
  • Evaluate patient progress, reassess, and alter treatment programmes as necessary, following discussion with qualified therapists.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, both written and electronic, in accordance with professional, legal, and Trust guidelines.
  • Work independently, holding responsibility for own caseload within a defined area of the service.
  • Contribute to Clinical Audits and service reviews, demonstrating standards expected from the Care Quality Commission, COT, and HCPC professional standards.
Requirements
  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) or willingness to work towards.
  • GCSE (or equivalent) pass in English and Maths.
  • Previous experience of working in a healthcare setting, AND/OR working with people with a variety of physical conditions, AND/OR working as a therapy assistant.
  • Experience of working as part of a team.
