Senior Sister

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Sister to join our team at Princess Anne Hospital. As a Senior Sister, you will be responsible for providing professional nursing leadership and working closely with the Matron to enhance nursing practice.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain a ward philosophy that prioritizes patient-centered care.
- Provide leadership and guidance to nursing staff, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with the Matron and other stakeholders to enhance nursing practice and improve patient outcomes.
- Ensure 24-hour cover for services provided and maintain a skilled mix of staff.
- Act as a role model for nursing staff, promoting inter-professional team working and evidence-based practice.
- 1st Level Registered Nurse on the relevant part of the NMC Register.
- Recognized mentorship qualification and experience as a Sign Off mentor.
- Degree or working towards.
- Completion of an appropriate specialty course.
- Higher Education Institute-approved course in supporting learners in practice.
- Extensive experience in the specialty, including considerable experience at Band 6 level.
- Evidence of clinical leadership ability.
- Proven management experience.
- Evidence of continuing professional development.
- Evidence of utilizing evidence in practice.
- Logical and consistent career pattern.
- Expert clinical skills.
- Ability to prioritize and deliver agreed objectives.
- Ability to work flexible hours and fulfill service requirements.
- Management Course (or equivalent).
- Experience as an NMC sign off mentor or clinical practice assessor.
- Evidence of staff development and succession planning.
- Broad range of post-registration experience.
- Experience of report writing.
