About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Sister to join our team at Princess Anne Hospital. As a Senior Sister, you will be responsible for providing professional nursing leadership and working closely with the Matron to enhance nursing practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain a ward philosophy that prioritizes patient-centered care.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to nursing staff, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with the Matron and other stakeholders to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care.
  • Facilitate evidence-based practice and support the implementation of new initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain a quality learning environment, promoting education and training for nursing staff.
Requirements
  • 1st Level Registered Nurse with relevant experience and qualifications.
  • Recognized mentorship qualification and experience as a Sign Off mentor.
  • Completion of an appropriate specialty course and higher education institute-approved course in supporting learners in practice.
  • Extensive experience in the specialty, including considerable experience at Band 6 level.
  • Evidence of clinical leadership ability and proven management experience.
  • Ability to prioritize and deliver agreed objectives, work flexible hours, and fulfill service requirements.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Management course or equivalent.
  • Experience as an NMC sign off mentor or clinical practice assessor.
  • Evidence of staff development and succession planning.
  • Broad range of post-registration experience.
  • Experience of report writing.
