Female Support Worker

We are seeking a patient and caring Support Worker to join our dedicated home care team for Saadia, a young girl with complex needs.
About SaadiaSaadia is a wheelchair user and PEG fed for 4 feeds a day and orally for 2. She suffers with reflux which is more problematic in the morning and evening. Saadia is dependent on her parents and her current team of Support Workers for all of her needs.
Responsibilities- Help Saadia with all of her care needs and monitoring her skin integrity.
- Get ready for and transport her to therapy sessions.
- Access the wider community with activities that she enjoys.
- Assist with physiotherapy/hydrotherapy as guided by the Case Manager and Therapist.
- Administer medication and change PEG button when required.
- Accompany family on holidays.
- Experience of working with children with complex needs to include Cerebral Palsy and PEG feeding.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work with patience, tact, understanding, warmth and compassion.
- Essential experience: complex medical needs and a knowledge of Cerebral Palsy.
- Desirable: experience working with children with trauma and an interest in therapy.
- £17.00 per hour, Monday to Friday, Days (6.00am to 8.00pm) £18.00 per hour, Saturdays and Sunday, Days (6.00am to 8.00pm), £18.00 per hour, Monday to Friday, Waking Nights, (8.00pm to 6.00am), £19.00 per hour, Saturdays and Sundays, Waking Nights (8.00pm to 6.00am) £18.00 per hour, Bank Holidays (excluding Waking Nights).
- On-going training & support provided (including The Care Certificate)
- 5.6 weeks annual leave pro rata
- Free enhanced DBS check.
