Gynae-Oncology Cancer Nurse Specialist

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Gynae-Oncology Cancer Nurse Specialist Team at University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will work alongside the current Gynae-Oncology CNS Team based at Poole Hospital, supporting patients and their families throughout the Gynae-Oncology Cancer Pathway.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure timeliness of investigations and appointments through the diagnostic pathway with awareness of Cancer Waiting Time Targets
  • Present at Breaking Bad News and offer support and information regarding diagnosis and treatment
  • Advise on symptom management and work closely with members of the Gynae Cancer Multidisciplinary Team, Primary and Tertiary Care
  • Work autonomously and be able to manage a specified patient caseload

Requirements

  • NMC Registered Nurse (RMN/RGN)
  • Recognised teaching qualification or experience in teaching
  • Demonstrable Gynae/Oncology/Symptom Control Knowledge
  • Conversant with developments in Oncology at National and Local levels
  • IT Literacy using a range of current and relevant packages
  • Teaching and presentations Skills
