Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Oncologist to join our team at University Hospitals Dorset. Due to a temporary vacancy, we are offering a 6-month locum Consultant post to cover the management of cancer patients from multidisciplinary team referral through to treatment with chemotherapy and radiotherapy.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Providing direct in-patient care, including 'consultant of the week' cover and advising on ward referrals for patients admitted under other specialties.
  • Leading outpatient clinics and managing cancer patients from diagnosis to treatment.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement effective cancer care plans.

  • To demonstrate evidence-based practice and sub-specialty training in oncology.

Person Specification:

  • Essential Criteria:
    • Full GMC registration.
    • FRCR or equivalent qualification.
  • Desirable Criteria:
    • Advanced Communications training experience and effectiveness.
    • Willingness and ability to help develop oncology services.
