At Imperial London Hotels Ltd, we are seeking a highly skilled Facilities Management Professional to lead our maintenance team at the iconic Royal National Hotel in the heart of Bloomsbury.

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced individual to join our vibrant team as a Maintenance Team Leader. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the Royal National Hotel is well presented and maintained, providing an exceptional guest experience and effective hotel operation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Daily Tasks and Scheduled Maintenance: Coordinate daily tasks and scheduled maintenance activity with the team, ensuring requests are managed promptly and in a timely manner while operating in a safe and efficient way according to all H&S legislation and company policy.
  • Equipment Inspections: Regularly inspect all aspects of hotel equipment, services, buildings, and plant to maintain the best standard in line with H&S legislation and company guidelines.
  • Liaison and Communication: Liaise regularly with the Hotel Manager and other Heads of Department to understand daily workload and scheduled maintenance activity.
  • Maintenance Standards: Maintain current knowledge of all building maintenance systems, carrying out regular inspections and supervising the implementation of maintenance standards and procedures.
  • Team Leadership and Development: Ensure that all team members are working in line with security and H&S procedures, using all equipment with proper operation and safety procedures. Recruit, train, and develop the team through providing day-to-day coaching of team performance to ensure KPIs are met, and carry out performance reviews to support individual development and management of poor performance.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Previous managerial or supervisory experience in a similar maintenance position, ideally within a hotel environment, large retail outlet, or building management services role.
  • Skills and Qualifications: Ability to perform basic electrical, plumbing, decoration, and carpentry tasks; any trade qualifications in NVQ level 2/3 electrical, plumbing, or heating would be advantageous.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Up-to-date knowledge on Health and Safety laws and regulations promoting a safe working environment. Able to manage a varied workload with the ability to work under pressure and react quickly to resolve any issues.
  • Personal Qualities: Self-motivated, takes pride in their work, and prioritises the safety of themselves and others. Excellent communication skills with the ability to deal with individuals at any level internally and externally. Flexible leadership style that knows how to motivate the team to achieve great results and reach their individual potential.
