Highways Operations Manager

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Highways Operations Manager to join our team at Lancashire County Council. As a key member of our Highways Operations and Design Service, you will be responsible for managing the delivery of operational highway structures projects.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and motivate Operational Engineers and their teams in delivering a wide range of Highways Structures Projects.
- Manage both direct and subcontract labour to ensure the delivery of a high-performance service while producing high-quality works for our customers.
- Operate with a high degree of autonomy and work closely with design teams to influence design choices and ensure projects are practical and deliverable.
- Be commercially and financially aware, monitoring costs and progress within tight tolerances.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Experience in the delivery of highway projects and dealing with third-party organizations such as District and Parish Councils, the Environment Agency, Highways England, Network Rail, and The Canals and Rivers Trust.
- The resilience required to deliver a fast-moving and reactive service while proactively monitoring budgets and maximizing resources effectively.
- An analytical approach that utilizes data to inform service delivery and improve performance.
- The confidence to deliver exceptional customer service and promote this ethos across all teams.
- The political awareness required to support corporate responsibilities.
