About the role

Lancashire Highways Service is responsible for the direct delivery of all highways related schemes across the County made up of 4300 miles of road, 151,000 streetlights and 2955 bridges

We have an exciting opportunity for a Highways Operative - Skilled required to support the delivery of Highways schemes which are often complex in nature, politically sensitive and high profile. This will be an opportunity to support the maintenance and enhancement of the highway network and provide long term benefits for residents, visitors and businesses in Lancashire.

Whilst this role will primarily focus on delivering the Authority's capital infrastructure programme of works, the post holder may be required to work on other aspects of highway's schemes as directed

We are looking for someone with experience of working within highway engineering fields, preferably with specific experience of delivering highways maintenance schemes.

As this role involves working on the highway network, we also require someone with an awareness of Health and Safety Legislation pertaining to highways maintenance and traffic management.

As part of our commitment on continuous improvement, how we deliver our service is regularly reviewed. Therefore, job roles may change, and post holder may be required to work elsewhere within the service.
