Job Title: Operations Manager Countywide Projects

Salary: £43,421 - £48,474 Per Annum | Permanent, Full time | 37 hours per week

Job Overview:

Lancashire County Council is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join our Highways Operations and Design Service. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing the delivery of operational highway projects, ensuring excellent standards of quality, and maintaining outstanding levels of Health, Safety, and Quality standards compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor, lead, and motivate Operational Engineers and their operational teams in delivering a wide range of highway-related projects.
  • Operate with a high degree of autonomy, making informed decisions to ensure project success.
  • Work closely with design teams to influence design choices, ensuring projects are practical, deliverable, and within agreed costs.
  • Be commercially aware, monitoring costs and progress within tight tolerances.
  • Lead and maintain outstanding levels of Health, Safety, and Quality standards compliance.

Requirements:

  • Experience in delivering highway projects, with confidence working with 3rd party organizations.
  • Resilience to deliver a fast-moving and reactive service, proactively monitoring budgets, and maximizing resource efficiency.
  • Analytical approach, utilizing data to inform service delivery and improve performance.
  • Exceptional customer service skills, promoting a customer-centric ethos across all teams.
  • Political awareness to support corporate responsibilities.
