Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and empathetic Support Specialist to join our team based in Amersham. As a Support Specialist, you will play a crucial role in supporting individuals with learning disabilities to lead fulfilling lives.

About the Role

  • Work as part of a dedicated team providing 24/7 support to individuals with learning disabilities.
  • Assist with daily tasks, personal care, and recreational activities to promote independence and well-being.
  • Develop meaningful relationships with service users, understanding their unique needs and preferences.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure seamless delivery of services and high-quality support.
  • Flexible working arrangements, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to meet the needs of service users.

Requirements

  • A genuine passion for supporting others and making a positive impact on people's lives.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with service users, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
  • The ability to work varied shifts, including sleep-ins, with an enhanced flat rate payment of £62.45 per hour.
  • A positive attitude towards individuals with learning disabilities and a commitment to promoting their rights and dignity.

Salary and Benefits

The successful candidate can expect a competitive salary of approximately £29,000-£32,000 per annum, depending on experience. Additionally, benefits include 24 days annual leave plus bank holidays (pro-rata for part-time), ongoing training and development opportunities, and a supportive work environment.
