Consultant Psychiatrist in Community Services
2 months ago
Position Overview
Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust is in search of a Consultant Psychiatrist to become a vital member of the Community Team within our Forensic Services division.
We are eager to welcome a Consultant with a background in either Community Mental Health or Forensic Psychiatry. While it is advantageous for candidates to possess CCT registration in Forensic Psychiatry, it is not a strict requirement. Although we are primarily seeking a full-time commitment, we are open to considering part-time applications and are supportive of flexible working arrangements within our Service.
As the leading provider of Forensic Community services in the region, our team has consistently surpassed commissioner targets for the successful reintegration of patients into their local communities. We are embarking on an innovative initiative to enhance our community forensic services, focusing on improving our consultation model. This role offers the chance to collaborate with regional partner organizations to address disparities in mental health care and to minimize both admissions and the duration of stays in secure inpatient facilities. You will be part of a skilled and dynamic multidisciplinary team, which includes Occupational Therapy, Social Work, Nursing, Peer Support, and Psychology professionals.
We seek a proactive consultant who prioritizes service user engagement and possesses a keen interest in service enhancement.
Key Responsibilities
In collaboration with your multidisciplinary colleagues, you will provide medical leadership, conduct assessments, and manage the care of patients within the community caseload. Additionally, you will participate in the on-call rota for the broader Forensic Service. You will receive support from fellow Consultants within the Forensic Division. The successful candidate will oversee the psychiatric care of specialized community forensic patients and will play a crucial role in the leadership team, dedicated to the ongoing development of high-quality community services that offer credible alternatives to prolonged inpatient stays.
