Job Title: Academic Support Specialist

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Academic Support Specialist to join our team at Austin Fraser. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality teaching and learning activities under the guidance of the class teacher.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lesson Delivery: Deliver engaging and effective lessons to students, ensuring they meet their academic potential.
  • Planning and Preparation: Assist with planning and preparation of lessons, tailoring them to meet the needs of individual students.
  • Student Support: Provide targeted support to students, both in groups and one-on-one, to enhance their progress and attainment.
  • Behaviour Management: Promote positive behaviour and maintain a safe and supportive classroom environment.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external professionals to effectively meet the diverse needs of our students.

To excel in this role, you will need:

  • HDLA qualification or equivalent experience in a similar role.
  • A genuine passion for education and supporting the academic and social development of young learners.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the ever-changing needs of our school community.
  • A commitment to upholding our school's values and ethos.

Salary: £25,000 - £35,000 per annum
