Job Summary

The Animal and Plant Health Agency is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the role of Delivery Team Leader. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing leadership and line management to a multi-disciplinary team, ensuring the effective and efficient deployment of resources to meet delivery requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a professional veterinary team in the prevention of notifiable diseases and invasive species, safeguarding animal welfare and facilitating international trade.
  • Be accountable for prioritizing resource and workloads across the teams to maintain a quality service and delivery of regulatory activities.
  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with Operational Partners and other Stakeholders.
  • Work closely with key teams within the Defra group to ensure regulatory activities are delivered correctly and consistently.
  • Provide leadership and direction to the delivery group members, cultivating collaboration, understanding quality assurance, and continuous improvement benefits.
  • Support and participate in out-of-hours management rota.

Person Specification

  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficient in the use of Excel to provide good management information and communicate effectively with different audiences.
  • Demonstrable line management experience, with the ability to provide leadership and direction to team members.
  • Ability to work flexibly, proactively support others, and demonstrate resilience in challenging situations.

Working Arrangements

The agreed amount of time spent at a workplace for this post will reflect the requirement for Civil Servants to spend at least 60% of their working time in an organization workplace with the option to work the remaining time flexibly from home.
