Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Education Assistant to join our team at Queen Alexandra College. As an Education Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with sensory needs, including those with autism, visual impairments, or hearing impairments.

About the Role

This part-time position involves working 20 hours per week, with a fixed-term contract until July 2025. The salary for this role is £16,160 - £18,362 per year, depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support students during lessons, adapting strategies to meet their individual needs.
  • Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and other stakeholders to ensure consistency and support.
  • Develop and implement individualized plans to address students' sensory needs, monitoring progress and adjusting strategies as necessary.
  • Provide emotional support to students, promoting their well-being and resilience.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Relevant experience working with students with sensory needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing situations and priorities.
  • Degree or equivalent in a related field (e.g., special education, psychology).

Please note that due to the nature of this role, you will be required to undergo an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
