Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Physiology Assistant to join our team at King's College Hospital. As a key member of our Paediatric Respiratory Physiology team, you will play a vital role in delivering a high-quality lung function and sleep service.

Main Responsibilities
  • Lung Function Testing
    • Perform quality assured spirometry, gas transfer, and lung volume measurements on children.
    • Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and quality control of laboratory equipment.
    • Prepare lung function reports under the supervision of a qualified Physiologist.
  • Sleep Investigation
    • Clean, prepare, and issue sleep monitoring equipment to patients.
    • Ensure the return of equipment and prepare it for reuse.
    • Download sleep studies and enter patient details into study records.
    • Prepare reports under the supervision of a qualified Physiologist.
  • General Duties
    • Answer telephone enquiries and respond to patient queries.
    • Make appointments and send out confirmation letters and information leaflets.
    • Unpack, store, and replenish supplies.
    • Assist Physiologists with their workload as needed.
    Requirements
    • 2 Science 'A' levels or equivalent.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills for working with medical, nursing, and technical team members.
    • Experience in performing quality assured spirometry, gas transfer, and lung volume measurements.
    • Experience in setting up sleep studies.
