Job Overview

The Department of Child Health at King's College Hospital is a leading provider of pediatric respiratory services. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Physiology Assistant.

Main Duties
  • Assist in the provision of a quality assured lung function testing service, performing spirometry, gas transfer, and lung volume measurements on children.
  • Take responsibility for the setup and return of home sleep monitoring equipment, ensuring accurate and timely data collection.
  • Assist in the download of sleep studies and preparation of reports, working closely with qualified physiologists to ensure high-quality results.
  • Deliver home spirometry services, providing patients with accurate and reliable measurements.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lung Function Testing: Perform quality assured spirometry, gas transfer, and lung volume measurements on children, as well as FeNO and bronchodilator responses.
  • Sleep Investigation: Clean, prepare, and issue sleep monitoring equipment to patients, ensuring its return and proper maintenance.
  • General Duties: Answer telephone enquiries, make appointments, and provide patient information, while maintaining confidentiality and adhering to hospital policies.
Person Specification
  • 2 Science 'A' levels or equivalent
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Experience in performing quality assured spirometry, gas transfer, and lung volume measurements
  • Experience in setting up sleep studies
