Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Physiological Assistant to join our team at King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will work within the Paediatric Respiratory Physiology team to assist with the delivery of a lung function and sleep service.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Lung Function Testing: Assist in the provision of a quality assured lung function testing service, including the set up and return of home sleep monitoring equipment.
  2. Sleep Study Analysis: Download sleep studies and prepare reports under the supervision of a qualified Physiologist.
  3. Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and quality control of all laboratory equipment.
  4. Report Preparation: Prepare lung function reports under the supervision of a qualified Physiologist.
  5. Patient Support: Clean, prepare, and issue sleep monitoring equipment to patients, and ensure the return of the equipment.
  6. Communication: Answer telephone enquiries, make appointments, and respond to patient queries.
  7. General Duties: Observe the rules, policies, procedures, and standards of King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, maintain confidentiality, and contribute to the development of colleagues.
Requirements
  1. Observing the rules, policies, procedures, and standards of King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
  2. Maintaining strict confidentiality of personal information relating to patients and staff.
  3. Being responsible, with management support, for their own personal development and actively contributing to the development of colleagues.
  4. Attending mandatory training on safeguarding children and adults.
  5. Familiarising themselves with the Trust's processes for reporting concerns.
  6. Reporting any safeguarding child or adult concerns appropriately.
