Motorway is the UK's fastest-growing used car marketplace, connecting private car sellers with thousands of verified dealers nationwide. Founded in 2017, our technology-led approach has redefined the experience of selling a car, generating thousands of monthly car sales and growing to over 400 people across London and Brighton offices.

The Role

We seek an experienced Marketing Director for Growth to oversee marketing efforts across our two-sided marketplace. Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer, you'll own the growth marketing strategy, planning, and execution across all touchpoints (Paid acquisition, Affiliate, SEO, Content, CRM, and Lifecycle) to drive acquisition, engagement, and revenue.

You will lead a multidisciplinary team, providing strategic leadership, fostering a high-performance culture, and ensuring functional excellence. Develop the team, lead with an experimentation mindset, and manage the acquisition P&L. Collaborate with Product, Sales, FP&A, Data Analytics, and our in-house Creative team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive vision and integrated strategy for growth marketing efforts across all touchpoints.
  • Lead development of growth and performance marketing teams and cross-functional collaborations.
  • Implement best practices for experimentation, analysis, and reporting.
  • Establish spend models for optimal ROI and positive media spend management.
  • Develop key metrics for acquisition, conversion, and revenue success and monitor regularly.
  • Manage vendor relationships and develop integrated solutions across performance marketing channels.
  • Drive CRM & lifecycle marketing efforts to retain and re-engage customers.
  • Personalise lifecycle communications in partnership with product, design, data, and analytics.
  • Own cross-functional projects to create new experiences driving growth.

Requirements

We seek a marketing professional with:

  • Demonstrated experience in B2C and B2B businesses with focus on performance and growth marketing.
  • Deep understanding of Performance Marketing, including Paid Search, Affiliate Marketing, Paid Social, and Programmatic Display.
  • Knowledge of Google, Youtube, and Meta.
  • Built and executed multi-million-pound budgets with ownership and developed investment models.
  • Experience in analytical, data-intensive, and/or strategic roles.
  • Prioritised tasks in fast-paced environments and leveraged analytics for performance optimisation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to drive top and bottom-line results.
  • Familiarity with martech and analytics tools.
  • Ability to coach and grow talent and organisational capabilities.
  • Relentless focus on improvement.
