About this role


We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Paediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes Specialist to join our team at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.


This is an exciting opportunity for a subspecialty accredited Paediatric Endocrinologist or an individual with equivalent experience to take on the responsibilities of leading our Paediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes service, including outpatient clinics, inpatient care, and out-of-hours cover.


As part of our dynamic team, you will work independently, exercising diligence to prioritise your workload and meet the changing demands of the service. You should be capable of sharing Consultant responsibilities and have excellent communication skills.


The successful candidate will be fully registered with the GMC and ideally hold a CCT in Paediatrics or be within six months of award of CCT at the time of interview. We welcome applications from those unable to work full-time for personal reasons or wishing to job-share.

Key responsibilities



  • Leading the Paediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes service, including outpatient clinics, inpatient care, and out-of-hours cover
  • Sharing Consultant responsibilities and working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge and skills in Paediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes
  • Providing education and training to junior colleagues and students
  • Participating in research and quality improvement initiatives

Requirements



  • Fully registered with the GMC
  • CCT in Paediatrics or within six months of award of CCT
  • Subspecialty accreditation in Paediatric Endocrinology or equivalent experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
