Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Peer Support Worker to join our team. As a Peer Support Worker, you will work closely with our service users, providing support and guidance to help them achieve their goals. This role requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:
• Plan and lead social and recreational activities in our hubs and local community venues
• Facilitate informal conversations and foster a welcoming atmosphere in our hubs
• Assist with lunch services and encourage community involvement
• Conduct assessments for new and existing service users
• Build supportive relationships and link service users to additional Jami services when needed
• Provide practical support such as helping with phone calls or correspondence
• Support service users in building personal and life skills, promoting greater independence
• Work with external agencies to ensure service users receive appropriate signposting
• Help facilitate cultural and faith-based activities, including Friday night dinners and festivals

Requirements:
• Secondary School Education (Essential)
• Further or higher education in social care, community work, or related fields (Desirable)
• Training in Peer Support or Mental Health First Aid (Desirable)
• Experience in health or social care (Essential)
• Experience working in mental health or the charity sector (Essential)
• Understanding of recovery and factors affecting mental health (Essential)
• Knowledge of equal opportunities and socioeconomic factors impacting mental health (Essential)
• Personal experience of using mental health services (Essential)
• Strong communication, group facilitation, and problem-solving skills (Essential)
• Ability to work independently and in a team (Essential)
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and video conferencing (Essential)

Salary: £28,000 - £32,000 per annum
