We are seeking a Commissioning Manager to strengthen our Construction team, covering the establishment of teams for the South West Water and Essex and Suffolk Water Regions. This role will provide commissioning planning as both regions develop, grow the team as required, and take on one of these regions full-time.

The Commissioning Manager will report directly to the Head of Commissioning and Framework Director. Key responsibilities include:

  • Resource prediction and management within the appointed regions, especially establishing a profile of growing team size.
  • Day-to-day delivery of or management and coordination of all commissioning and commissioning planning activities, including planning for process commissioning and testing, within those regions.
  • Effective engagement with client and operational staff to obtain buy-in to proposed commissioning plans, ensure the effective integration of assets into the existing works without detriment and risk to service level agreements, and achieve fast and effective handovers.
  • Develop and operate an optimized interface with the MWHT engineering team to ensure 'design for commissioning.'
  • Prepare training plans, organize specialist training by equipment suppliers, and personally deliver training where appropriate.
  • Facilitate feedback of improvement information from commissioning.
  • Encourage and manage off-site testing and pre-commissioning activities by suppliers or others.
  • Ensure commissioning is carried out safely in accordance with regulations and procedures.
  • Ensure all necessary commissioning documentation is produced in a timely manner and cooperate with Technical Documentation teams to ensure timely delivery of O&M manuals.
  • Drive efficiencies and operate tight change control procedures.
  • Monitor, measure, and report on performance within those regions and drive continuous improvement.
  • In conjunction with other Commissioning Managers and the Head of Commissioning, develop and improve commissioning processes and systems.
