Job Description:

We are seeking a compassionate and creative Wellbeing Assistant to join our team at Grand Care Centre. As a key member of our wellbeing program, you will contribute to creating engaging activity programs that stimulate the minds, bodies, and spirits of our residents.

Responsibilities:

  1. Program Development: Collaborate with the Wellbeing Coordinator to design and implement weekly activity programs that cater to diverse resident needs.
  2. Activity Leadership: Lead innovative activities that promote resident engagement, creativity, and overall wellbeing.
  3. Motivation and Guidance: Inspire staff to incorporate wellbeing and activity into their roles, ensuring a culture of inclusivity and support.
  4. Resident Support: Familiarize yourself with each resident's life story and wellbeing plan, contributing to regular reviews and assessments.
  5. Risk Management: Ensure adequate risk assessments are in place for all planned activities in collaboration with the Wellbeing Coordinator.
  6. Cultural Awareness: Understand and respect the diverse backgrounds and needs of our residents.

Skills and Qualifications:

  1. Experience: Previous experience working with older adults is essential.
  2. Delivering Programs: Proven ability to deliver engaging activity programs is crucial.
  3. Needs Assessment: Effective assessment, planning, and evaluation of activity needs for older adults is vital.
  4. Teamwork: Ability to work individually and as part of a cohesive team.
  5. Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are necessary.
  6. Crisis Management: Ability to prioritize and handle emergency situations effectively.
  7. Creativity: Imagination, enthusiasm, and forward-thinking are essential qualities for this role.
