Job Description
We are seeking an experienced teaching assistant to work with students who require additional support due to their autism or other learning disabilities. Your primary responsibility will be to provide tailored support and interventions to ensure these students are fully engaged in learning activities. This may involve working on a 1:1 basis or in small groups, depending on the needs of the student.
You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to develop and implement effective learning plans that meet the individual needs of each student. Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents are essential for this role.
In addition to providing academic support, you will also be responsible for promoting positive behaviour and creating a safe and inclusive environment for all pupils.
Required Skills and Qualifications
A Team Teach qualification is essential for this role, as is previous experience working with children who have autism, ADHD, and other learning or behavioural challenges. Patience, resilience, and a genuine passion for helping children reach their full potential are also key qualities required for this position.
