Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and organized Therapy Assistant to join our Medical Team at York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. In this role, you will support registered therapists in providing high-quality care to our patients, assist with therapeutic activities, maintain accurate records, and ensure a welcoming environment.

Main Responsibilities
  • Support registered therapists in delivering patient care and therapeutic activities
  • Assist with administrative tasks, including maintaining accurate records and managing equipment
  • Work collaboratively with the team to ensure a high-quality patient experience
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of patient needs and preferences

Person Specification

Education:

  • GCSE Level or equivalent (Maths and English at C or above)
  • Willingness to undertake relevant departmental training

Experience and Knowledge:

  • Detailed understanding of the role of a Therapy Assistant
  • Awareness of patient needs and preferences
  • Practical awareness of patient safety and risk
  • Basic understanding of Health and wellbeing

Skills and Attributes:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to keep accurate and legible patient notes
  • Ability to organize and prioritize workload
  • Problem-solving skills
