About the Role
We are seeking a compassionate and organized Therapy Assistant to join our Medical Team at York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a Therapy Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting registered therapists in providing high-quality care to our patients, assisting with therapeutic activities, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring a welcoming environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support registered therapists in providing high-quality care to patients
- Assist with therapeutic activities and maintain accurate records
- Ensure a welcoming environment for patients and staff
- Organize and prioritize workload to meet deadlines
- Develop and maintain strong communication skills to work effectively with patients, staff, and other healthcare professionals
Requirements
- Educated to GCSE Level or equivalent, with Maths and English at C or above
- Willingness to undertake relevant departmental training to achieve required clinical competencies
- Detailed understanding of the role of a Therapy Assistant
- Awareness of what is important to patients
- Practical awareness of issues affecting patient safety and risk
- Basic understanding of Health & wellbeing
- Proficient in computer use and IT skills
