About the Job

As a Service Delivery Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our train stations. Your primary responsibilities will include providing exceptional customer service, ensuring the safe and punctual departure of trains, and maintaining a clean and safe station environment.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Provide the highest levels of customer service and be dedicated to customer needs.
  • Ensure the safe and punctual departure of trains from the station and follow correct dispatch procedures.
  • Provide helpful information and assistance to customers.
  • Ensure the safety of customers, colleagues, visitors, and contractors.
  • Ensure the cleanliness of the station, especially toilets, waiting rooms, platforms, stairs, and subways.
  • Liaise with other key GWR departments to ensure accurate and timely customer information, especially in times of disruption.

You'll Need to Be

  • Able to deliver extraordinary front-line customer service.
  • A self-starter with a can-do attitude.
  • Able to confidently make decisions.
  • Able to remain calm yet confident and customer-focused in a crisis.
  • Comfortable working within strict procedures.

Working Pattern

You will need to be able to work shifts, including weekends and bank holidays. You will need to be available to work from 05:30 – 00:45 Monday – Sunday. Working a roster that averages 35 hours over 6 weeks. Your starting and finishing times may be at times when public transport is not available, so you must be able to get to and from the station without relying on this.

Additional Information

This is a predictive advert to create a pool of suitable candidates who can be appointed, pending the vacancy approval. Applicants who are successfully shortlisted will be expected to undertake an online ability test and competency-based interview. The successful candidate will be required to meet the medical standards for this role, including colour vision and hearing tests. A Basic DBS is also required. Potential interview dates are W/C 21/10/2024
