Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Chef Manager to join our team at Anchor Hanover. As a Senior Chef Manager, you will be responsible for managing every aspect of catering within our location, delivering a high-quality catering service, and supervising the catering assistants on shift.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deputising for the Chef Manager: You will be responsible for managing the catering team in the absence of the Chef Manager, ensuring that the catering service is delivered to the highest standards.
  • Managing Catering Operations: You will be responsible for managing all aspects of catering, including menu planning, food preparation, and presentation.
  • Supervising Catering Assistants: You will be responsible for supervising and mentoring the catering assistants, ensuring that they have the skills and knowledge required to deliver a high-quality catering service.
  • Maintaining Compliance: You will be responsible for maintaining compliance with food safety and health and safety procedures, ensuring that the catering team is aware of and adheres to these procedures.
  • Minimising Waste: You will be responsible for minimising waste when preparing meals and ensuring that equipment is used correctly.

Requirements:

  • Intermediate or Level 3 Food Hygiene Certificate: You will need to hold an intermediate or level 3 food hygiene certificate with Cater Craft or a similar award.
  • Health and Safety Legislation: You will need to have knowledge of health and safety legislation, including control of substances harmful to health (COSHH) and food safety standards.
  • Proven Chef and People Management Experience: You will need to have proven experience in chef and people management, including supervising and mentoring staff.
  • Basic Knowledge of Dietary Requirements: You will need to have basic knowledge of dietary requirements relating to older people.
  • Safe Use of Kitchen Equipment: You will need to have knowledge of the safe use of kitchen equipment, including knives.

  • Negotiation and Influencing Skills: You will need to have strong negotiation and influencing skills, able to work with the catering team and other stakeholders to achieve goals.
  • Time Management and Prioritisation Skills: You will need to have strong time management and prioritisation skills, able to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility and Adaptability: You will need to be flexible and adaptable, able to work in a pressured environment and respond to changing circumstances.
