Patient Access Liaison Officer

We are seeking a highly organized and communicative Patient Access Coordinator to join our team at NHS Jobs. As a key member of our department, you will be responsible for ensuring seamless patient access to our services.
Key Responsibilities- Initial Point of Contact: Act as the first point of contact for all patient access queries, providing a courteous and efficient service to patients and their families.
- Referral Processing: Ensure that all new referral letters are processed in accordance with departmental guidelines, including vetting and scheduling of outpatient appointments.
- Scheduling and Reminders: Schedule outpatient appointments and elective admissions in accordance with clinical urgency and departmental procedures, and ensure that patients are appropriately reminded of their appointments.
- Patient Liaison: Liaise with patients prior to their hospital visit to ensure a mutually convenient date and time is agreed, and provide support and guidance as needed.
- Departmental Standards: Ensure that departmental standards are met for patients receiving notification or acknowledgement of their visit, and provide a high level of customer service at all times.
- Excellent Communication Skills: Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Organizational Skills: Demonstrate strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Technical Skills: Possess basic computer skills and experience with scheduling software, with the ability to learn new systems and technologies quickly.
