Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and communicative Patient Access Coordinator to join our team at NHS Jobs. As a key member of our department, you will be responsible for ensuring seamless patient access to our services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Initial Point of Contact: Respond to all patient access queries in a courteous and efficient manner.
  • Vetting Process: Verify that the vetting process has been followed for all new referral letters, in accordance with departmental guidelines.
  • Scheduling: Schedule outpatient, elective admissions, and associated appointments based on clinical urgency and wait times, adhering to departmental procedures and Trust Policies.
  • Patient Liaison: Liaise with patients to arrange mutually convenient dates and times for appointments.
  • Reminder System: Ensure patients are reminded of their appointments, using a combination of letters and telephone calls, up to seven days prior to their visit.
  • Departmental Standards: Maintain high standards for patient notification and acknowledgement of appointments, in line with departmental protocols.
  • Individualized Support: Provide personalized support to patients, including arranging interpreting services as needed.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will possess excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. You will also have a strong understanding of departmental procedures and Trust Policies.
