To support this goal, the Surgical Divisions seek a forward-thinking Business Manager to work closely with the General Manager for surgery to drive service improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the General Manager (GM) in ensuring the provision of high-quality, efficient, and effective services.
  • Develop and deliver service strategy, ensuring appropriate risk management processes are in place to deliver a safe, high-quality, patient-centered service.
  • SUPPORT THE GM WITH KEY PERFORMANCE TARGETS IN LINE WITH LOCAL AND NATIONAL AGREEMENTS.
  • Build strong and cohesive working relationships with Clinical Leads and Matrons for areas of responsibility.
  • Facilitate performance and service improvement policies and implement them as needed.
  • Manage resources to improve quality and productivity, working within the Division to achieve more effective use of resources and enhanced quality and productivity.
  • Lead, manage, and motivate staff within the operational area, ensuring appropriate management structures, policies, and practices are in place to achieve high levels of performance.
  • Ensure national targets are met, including Clinical Quality Indicators.
  • Promote the implementation of key HR initiatives/targets such as Agenda for Change and HR policies/practices.

Job OverviewRole Description

This role is responsible for supporting the General Manager in driving service improvement across the Surgical Divisions. Key responsibilities include developing and delivering service strategies, managing resources, and promoting the implementation of key HR initiatives.

Required Skills and QualificationsKnowledge
  • A practical understanding of Financial Management, HR Management Performance Management (Including RTT), and Project Management.
  • Understanding of the changing NHS environment and its impact on service provision for staff.
Qualifications
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent qualification and/or experience.

Estimated Salary: £45,000 - £60,000 per annum
