Job Description

GBS Global Applied Knowledge is seeking a dedicated and experienced Tutoring Program Lead to oversee the delivery of our student support services. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading a team of Student Success Tutors, providing academic and IT support to students, and collaborating with colleagues to design and implement effective student support programs.

About the Role

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in academic support, customer service, and team management, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality student experiences, maintaining accurate records, and communicating effectively with students and colleagues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage Student Success Tutors in the delivery of their duties on a daily basis and ensure timely completion of these duties.
  • Maintain a comprehensive and contemporary knowledge of all the support services available at GBS and partner organisations.
  • Provide basic academic and IT support to students, both inside and outside of the classroom.
  • Follow up student non-attendance immediately and refer persistent cases to the student retention team.
  • Work with the Head to ensure SSTs are regularly scheduled for in-class support sessions.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to design workshops, events, career fairs, and other student events.
  • Ensure timely and accurate record keeping by SSTs and produce reports as requested.
  • Communicate effectively with students, employing a range of digital and in-person methods.

Requirements

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent experience in a front-facing customer service role or academic student support role in academic institutions.
  • A strongly developed sense of service delivery and customer/student-focused approach.
  • Strong interpersonal skills – active listening, excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
  • Flexible, approachable, and helpful with a strong customer service ethic.

Estimated Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 per annum
