Warwick Hospital Administrator

- Contract: Permanent, Hours: 37.5 hours per week (day, night, twilight, weekday and weekend shifts).
South Warwickshire NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a skilled and motivated individual to join its team as an ED administrator in the Emergency Department.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing administrative support to the Emergency Department team, coordinating patient flow and dealing with telephone enquiries.
This role offers a unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, supporting patients, medical staff, nursing staff and management processes.
Key responsibilities include providing a comprehensive and efficient administrative service, ensuring timely admission and discharge while maintaining Trust values and behaviours.
The ideal candidate will have excellent IT skills, accurate and advanced keyboard skills, and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative support to the Emergency Department team.
- Coordinate patient flow through the Emergency Department.
- Deal with telephone enquiries and provide general support to clinicians, nurses, and managers.
- GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English at Grade C or above.
- RSA or NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
- Reception experience.
- Significant experience working with the public.
- Understanding of data confidentiality.
- Understanding of clinical coding or willingness to learn.
- Previous experience working within a healthcare environment.
- Experience using the electronic patient administration system - Lorenzo.
- Excellent IT skills and experience in Microsoft Office suite.
- Accurate and advanced keyboard skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and prioritise workload.
- Knowledge of Trust policies and procedures.
- Tactful and diplomatic.
- Adaptable and flexible.
- Organised, professional and punctual.
- Ability to work and communicate with people at all levels.
