About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated Student Welfare Coordinator to join our team at Ad Warrior. This role is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting students and promoting a safe and positive learning environment.

As a Student Welfare Coordinator, you will work closely with the Pastoral Support Team to ensure the welfare and wellbeing of all students. Your key responsibilities will include working as part of a team to promote a safe and calm school environment, being a Deputy DSL and undertaking any associated responsibilities, and providing emotional support and guidance to students.

You will also be responsible for signposting parents to parenting course opportunities, working with families to support their children, and assisting in improving student attendance and late arrivals. Additionally, you will provide confidential and non-judgmental support to students, listening to their concerns and offering guidance and advice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work as part of the Pastoral Support Team to promote a safe and calm school environment
  • Be a Deputy DSL and undertake any associated responsibilities
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to students
  • Signpost parents to parenting course opportunities
  • Work with families to support their children
  • Assist in improving student attendance and late arrivals

Requirements:

  • Numerate and literate to GCSE or equivalent standard
  • Knowledge of child development
  • An insight into the needs of young children and their parents
  • An understanding of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion
  • A working knowledge and understanding of the Children Act 1989, particularly in relation to Child Protection
  • High standard of communication, both verbal and written, including appropriate record keeping
  • Ability to facilitate discussion and lead small group sessions
  • Commitment to anti-discriminatory practice
  • Emphatic, patient, supportive, diplomatic
  • Will to learn and accept suggestions for improvement
  • Able to work with other professionals
