About the Opportunity:
We are excited to offer an excellent opportunity for a Student Welfare Coordinator to join our team at Ad Warrior. This role offers a challenging and rewarding experience for someone who is passionate about supporting students and promoting a safe and positive learning environment.
As a Student Welfare Coordinator, you will work closely with the Pastoral Support Team to ensure the welfare and wellbeing of all students. Your key responsibilities will include working as part of a team to promote a safe and calm school environment, being a Deputy DSL and undertaking any associated responsibilities, and providing emotional support and guidance to students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work as part of the Pastoral Support Team to promote a safe and calm school environment
- Be a Deputy DSL and undertake any associated responsibilities
- Provide emotional support and guidance to students
- Signpost parents to parenting course opportunities
- Work with families to support their children
- Assist in improving student attendance and late arrivals
- Provide confidential and non-judgmental support to students
Requirements:
- Numerate and literate to GCSE or equivalent standard
- Knowledge of child development
- An insight into the needs of young children and their parents
- An understanding of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion
- A working knowledge and understanding of the Children Act 1989, particularly in relation to Child Protection
- High standard of communication, both verbal and written, including appropriate record keeping
- Ability to facilitate discussion and lead small group sessions
- Commitment to anti-discriminatory practice
- Emphatic, patient, supportive, diplomatic
- Will to learn and accept suggestions for improvement
- Able to work with other professionals
